Most people surf the Web looking for pages that contain relevant information. Unless you know the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of a Web page you will probably have to search for a topic using a search engine or links page. A search engine is like a form where you type in your keywords and then enter your request. Search engines are giant databases, when your request is entered the database is searched and any relevant documents are retrieved and listed in order of priorities you set. There are many search engines available with some of the most popular being Yahoo and Google. The largest commercial site is Overture with over 8 million customized search listings hand reviewed by over 80 editors (for a personal review of Overture click here).
